Paris Writers, help us to update this section.
Some of our favorite events are no longer being offered, others have changed and new workshops and classes are popping up all the time!
If you have attended an excellent workshop, conference, retreat or class, please let us know.
If you would like to announce your workshop, writing group, bookgroup or retreat, please send me detailed information (including COST) and a link to your website....
These are regular, high quality events, that I personally recommend to all writers:
Festival America : every two years in Vincennes
Geneva Writers Group, GWG runs an excellent 2-day workshop every two years. Next in 2014.
BnF - Événement - Festival des Écrivains du Monde
Other workshops and festivals which may interest Paris writers:
Retreat in the Alps from 22nd-27th October 2016. The cost is 550 euros all inclusive, and Hazel Manuel is our writer in residence. You will find the link below: http://www.yourwritefulplace.
Story: Robert McKee (twice a year in Paris, check his websites for dates) A master class, not a workshop, but the man knows how to hold an audience. It's a one-man-show on writing "story". Simultaneous translation into French available. Many industry professions attend and I learned a lot, but it's not a particularly "friendly" setting. No name tags, little spontaneous discussion with strangers untiil the last day...
I will be adding the links and more information as I receive it. If you would like to recommend a workshop, festival or retreat, please leave a comment or contact me at [email protected] (This includes poetry festivals!)
