These are regular, high quality events, that I personally recommend to all writers:
Festival America : every two years in Vincennes, next in 2010
Paris Writers Workshop (PWW) : a wonderful learning event, international, useful and fun.
Geneva Writers Group, GWG runs an excellent 2-day workshop every two years.
Shakespeare and Company Festivalandco : a major event on the Paris literary scene, every two years.
