There were serious doubts about side effects in the mid 1990s. In addition, the vaccine concerned protected against only one kind of hepatitis, so it wasn't that useful for people not at risk. Our (French) doctor did not want to recommend it. There were many studies and counter-studies. It's difficult to find definitive information about it from a reliable source. The memory of the confusion and distrust surrounding that episode has probably not helped the Swine flu vaccination campaign.

Madame Tut

A Paris friend mentioned her fear of giving her children the Hep B vaccine because of a risk of Multiple Sclerosis. I'd never heard of this link in the US or at all until a recent visit to France. What's up with that?
